ISLAMABAD
A 6.3 magnitude earthquake struck Islamabad, Azad Kashmir and other parts of Punjab on Sunday. The tremors also shook parts of neighbouring countries Iran and Afghanistan.
The magnitude of the earthquake was recorded at 6.3 on the Richter scale and the epicentre was Tajikistan. National Seismic Monitoring Centre said the earthquake had a longitude of 69.65 East and a latitude of 38.65 North.
According to National Seismic Monitoring Centre, the magnitude of earthquake was 6.3 on Richter scale.
The tremors were also felt in Rawalpindi, Murree, and other parts of Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
There were no reports of any damage from the earthquake as tremors were also felt in other cities of the country. Residents of different cities also took to Twitter to report the earthquake.
The epicentre of this earthquake was Tajikistan, while its depth was 150 kilometres, Meanwhile, the earthquake shook buildings in Iran. Three people were killed and more than 500 were injured.
