During operations in the last three months, Peshawar police have arrested busted 62 gangs of street crimes and also recovered cash and stolen items from their possession, police said. Speaking to media persons, SSP Operations Haroon Rasheed said that the cops also recovered 81kg ice, 180kg heroin, 1026kg hashish and 1410kg opium during the three months period while the 62 gangs busted were comprised of 234 members who were arrested.
Besides, more than Rs37 million cash was also recovered while 192 phones, 20 cars and 49 motorcycles were also secured from the arrested people.
The police have launched a special campaign against drug smugglers in Peshawar city and its suburbs. He said that more than 400 search operations were conducted during the three months with the aim of maintaining order.
Haroon said police were working along with community elders to resolve enmities among people. He said that 183 Kalashnikovs, 25 Kalakovs, 187 rifles, 80 shotguns, 38 hand grenades, 3228 pistols and bullets during the three month long operations.
Haroon Rasheed said human intelligence was being improved for the arrest of outlaws and maintenance of law and order in society.
