The Punjab Food Authority (PFA) launched an inspection operation against bigwings of wedding halls in Attock 12 marriage halls were checked while 08 with hefty fines for violating rules in the district.
According to news release issued by PFA spokesman, On the special direction of PFA Director General, the food safety teams launched an inspection drive of the marriage halls in the district. During the checking, the teams conducted the inspection of 12 marriage halls and found that 08 marrage halls were involved in violation of authority’s rules. Fines of about 3 lakh 10 thousand were imposed. Large amounts of expired items are edible.

The Punjab Food Authority spokesman said that During the wedding season, poor sanitation in marriage halls increases. Inspection of marriage halls across Attock city is going on. Large quantities of expired food items were discarded. The fines have been imposed on account of very poor sanitation arrangements.
