ISLAMABAD: 95th birth anniversary of the famous fiction writer Bano Qudsia will be celebrated on Tuesday, November 28. Bano Qudsia, the author of masterpiece novels like ‘Raja Gidh’, was born on November 28, 1928 in Ferozepur district of East Punjab and came to Lahore after the partition of India. Due to his extreme attachment to Urdu literature, she wrote several novels in Urdu, including ‘Raja Gadh’ and ‘Amar Bel’, which became so famous that his name started being included among the best novelists. Bano Qudsia also used to write drama scripts in Punjabi and Urdu for stage shows and television, her plays include ‘Piya Naam Ka Diya’, ‘Footpath Ki Ghaas, Aadhi Baat’ and others. She was awarded Hilal Imtiaz by the Government of Pakistan in 1983 and Sitara Imtiaz in 2010 for his best writings and best performance in Urdu literature, while she also won Kamal Art Award in 2012.
