9,940 govt schools shifted to solar energy in KP

An important meeting held here on Thursday with the education minister Shahram Khan Tarkai in the chair, reviewed progress on the schools solarization project in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The meeting was attended by officers of planning cell Noor Alam Khan, Shahab Ullah and other officials of the education department.
The officials of the planning cell informed the forum that so far 9240 government schools in settled districts and more than 500 schools in tribal districts have been shifted to the solar system in the province.
It informed further that solarization work in another 700 public sector schools will be completed by the end of this year.
Provincial minister Shahram Tarakai said that provision of basic facilities to school children enrolled across the province was the key priority of the provincial government.
He said transition to the solar system project must be completed in its stipulated time, adding that the KP government was working on war footing to resolve all issues of schools in the province and for this purpose all available resources would be utilized.
Shahram Khan expressed his satisfaction on this occasion while appreciating the performance of the officers of the department.
