Supreme Court (SC) has adjourned the hearing of suo moto case of journalists’ harassment for indefinite period due to lack of time.
During the brief hearing SC issued directions to all security institutions to uphold the law. Three members bench of SC led by Justice Ijaz Ul Ahsan heard the case on Thursday.
During the hearing, additional Attorny General told the court that currently no criminal proceedings is running against any journalist from government side.
Advocate Waheed Ahmed pleaded that civil society has filed another application in journalists’ case saying that what protection of right of expression is given on electronic media should be given on social media as well.
On the occasion, justice Ijaz Ul Ahsan said that due to lack of time case cannot be heard today.
