No one has showed any concern in Karachi building collapsed incident: Justice Gulzar

Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Gulzar Ahmad has remarked during the course of hearing of different matters of Karachi that people have constructed buildings in the city considering the land their father’s land and we will not spare any one.
He gave these remarks while presiding over a 3-mmeber bench of SC during the course of hearing of cases pertaining to different matters including Karachi transport problems, illegal occupations, encroachments, Karachi circular railway and others on Friday in Karachi registry.
Provincial minister Saeed Ghani, mayor Karachi Wasim Akhtar and PTI leader Firdous Shamim Naqvi appeared in the court.
At the inception of hearing of the case Advocate General (AG) Sindh filed copy of mass transport plan.
He told Green Line and Orange train projects have been completed and work is continuing on other projects. World Bank and Asian development bank are providing funds.
CJP remarked you were wanting to incur expenses and distribute money.
CJP remarked the way the maps are provided, work should also be done this way. This is not future transport plan.
AG Sindh said we then close this projects.
CJP remarked “ you are not understanding our stand point.
The government authorities told the court Green Line project was started 3 years before.
CJP remarked during the period of three years a road is constructed in the entire Asia.
He observed “ there is money, there are men then why all the projects were not completed within a year. In a year so much large roads are constructed.
The authorities told the court orange line will be made operational next year.
CJP remarked why it cannot be made operational this month. You people don’t make payments and the contractors leave and go away. Go to Nazim Abad, no work is being done therein. Every time some one is changed.
He remarked” you make the people see dreams and their life has become miserable. Dust is lying. These all projects are heaps of dust and they will collapse.
He observed “ people are dying and you people are playing flute. This chngchi has started again.
He remarked “ people are working in Karachi. They know what about Karachi. They don’t work unless the danda (stick) comes from above. How many flyovers have been built they all will collapse. Keemari bridge is going to collapse within five years. Then Keemari connection with Karachi will be sundered.
He observed Shaheed Millat road once was worth seeing. University road is a big joke
AG Sindh told the court work is underway and Green and Orange line will soon become operational. Redline will be completed on August 14.
CJP inquire what about blue and purple line.
AG Sindh told work is not being done on them. Redline project will be built on Shahra-e-Pakistan and University road.
CJP inquired why the government transport is not run in Karachi.
AG Sindh said buses are plying in the city.
CJP remarked nothing is running. There is no system of transport. Buses of 1955 are running in the city.
He remarked “ these buses will run when I go to home and my associates will also go home. You people don’t complete the work in 10 years which needs to be completed within 6 months.
AG Sindh said this is being done due to some officers. Justice Sajjad Ali Shah remarked give report about how many buildings have been built illegally in Nazim Abad. AG Sindh said report is there.
CJP remarked we will send them to jail through state machinery. Don’t take it as joke. People are standing outside today too.
The building which had collapsed a day before also came under discussion.
CJP remarked 14 people have died and you all are enjoying a sound sleep. No one has showed any concern. CJP remarked “you saw what happened in New Zealand. These are the people.
AG Sindh replied new Zealand population is very small. He however told the court 20 officers have been suspended.
Circular road matter came under discussion.
