Federal Minister for Kashmir Affairs, Gilgit-Baltistan and SAFRON, Engineer Amir Muqam, said here Thursday that under the prudent leadership of Prime Minister of Pakistan Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif and Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Pakistan is advancing toward new milestones of development, stability, and national dignity.
He added that providing youth with opportunities in modern education, digital technology, and research is among the government’s top priorities.
He expressed these views while addressing a prestigious ceremony organized under the Prime Minister’s Youth Laptop Scheme at the Karakoram International University (KIU) Hunza Campus.
The event was attended by the Vice Chancellor, faculty members, university administration, students, and a large number of local dignitaries.
Federal Minister Engineer Amir Muqam said that Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif’s vision is to equip Pakistan’s youth with modern education, research, artificial intelligence, digital skills, and innovative thinking so they can bring honour to the country at the global level.
He said that the Prime Minister’s Youth Laptop Scheme is a practical manifestation of this vision, through which talented and hardworking students are being provided access to modern educational resources.
Congratulating the students who received laptops, he said that this recognition reflects their hard work, capability, and outstanding academic performance.
He added that the youth of Gilgit-Baltistan possess immense potential, and the federal government is taking concrete steps to integrate them into the national development process.
He also appreciated the efforts of Prime Minister’s Youth Programme Chairman Rana Mashhood Ahmad Khan for advancing youth-focused initiatives.
Engineer Amir Muqam said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, special focus is being given in Gilgit-Baltistan to development projects, Danish Schools, renewable energy projects, Safe City projects, business loan schemes for youth, and the promotion of modern educational facilities so that young people in the region can have equal opportunities for progress.
He said that in the recent regional situation, Pakistan demonstrated responsible diplomacy, a commitment to peace, and national unity, thereby highlighting its positive role in the world as a strong and dignified state.
The Federal Minister praised the leadership of Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif and Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, saying that the entire nation stands with their brave armed forces and national leadership.
The Federal Minister urged students to use the laptops as an effective means for knowledge, research, innovation, and national service, and to contribute through their abilities toward taking Pakistan to new heights of development and prosperity.
Earlier, upon his arrival at the Karakoram International University Hunza Campus, Federal Minister Engineer Amir Muqam was warmly welcomed by the Vice Chancellor, faculty members, and university administration.
Later, the Vice Chancellor briefed the Federal Minister in his office about the university’s academic, research, and development activities. The Federal Minister also planted a sapling in the Hunza Campus lawn and participated in the tree plantation campaign.
