KP Flour Mills Association announces end to strike

Provincial Food Minister, Qalandar Khan Lodhi has said that in view of the current situation, demands of Flours Mills Association, resolvable up to the department level and in the best interest of the public have been accepted to provide subsidized and continuous supply of flour to the citizens, however in case of non-compliance with the conditions laid down by the department, the accepted demands may be reconsidered.
He said this during a meeting with a delegation of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Flour Mills Association led by Chairman Association, Iqbal Khan at his office here on Wednesday. Secretary Food Department Khushal Khan and Director Food Department Zubair Ahmed were also present during the meeting.
During the meeting, members of the Flour Mills Association apologized for the strike without a written notice in the province and for their non-parliamentary attitudes later on, in a press conference.
On the occasion, the association also announced calling off the strike in the province immediately.
Qalandar Khan Lodhi said that the Flour Mills Association has ended the strike in the province and has agreed to pick government quota of wheat.
At the meeting, the Food Minister said that the demand of the members of Flour Mills Association which is not up to the level or jurisdiction of the Food Department would be forwarded to the relevant forum.
The Food Minister further said that the supply of subsidized flour to the people was one of the top priorities of the department.
He said that under the leadership of Chief Minister Mahmood Khan, h would spare no effort to provide relief to public.
