The leaders of North Waziristan Agency on Thursday expressed severe reservations over the construction of Kurram-Tangi Dam and demanded cancellation of Prime Minister forthcoming visit to Waziristan. People of North Waziristan Agency affected from construction of Kurram-Tangi dam have opposed the construction of the dam.
While addressing a press conference at National Press Club the MNA form North Waziristan Agency Haji Nazir Khan flanked with JUI’s NMA MaulanaJamilulDin, parliamentary leader Shah Gee GulAfradi, senator Momeen Khan and others have stated that construction of Kurram-Tangi Dam was the matter of life and death for them. “Yes the matter was life and death for us and would fully resist if the government go against our wishes” they added.
MNA Haji Nazir said that over one Lekh tribune belong to Kabul Khal and Atmanzai were presently living in Tehsil Shevia and these people would badly affect due to the construction of Kurram-Tangi Dam.
“Our whole business including fruits backyards, historic and religious places and all the above the Mazir of FakheerAppi would badly effect owing to the construction of this dam” he added.
Answering a question, he said that this alarming matter was disused with area advisors, political agents, WAPDA officials and other responsible leaders and they all assured to address the reservations. He alleged that the these officials hadn’t address their reservations and advised government to go ahead of dam constriction plan.
The leaders expressed severe reservations over the construction of Kurram-Tangi Dam and demanded cancellation of Prime Minister forthcoming visit to Waziristan.
