The local transporter demanded of the Pakistan border security force to assist him in getting of his truck, snatched by some persons with support of Afghan forces last month.
Haji Zahir Shah, flanked by his relatives Alimat Shah, Shah Wali and Aliman Shah of Ghani Khel,Shiekhmal,Landi Kotal said that his truck bearing registration no.(TLD-446)loaded with export commodities was handed over to Afghan driver at Pak-Afghan sharing border,Torkham on 10th of August,2020,while following Standard Operating Procedure(SOP)in which Pak driver was not allowed to cross the border to Afghanistan, imposed by the Pak authorities keeping in view of menace of spread of coronavirus and then never returned.
He added that the Afghani driver told on phone that after delivering consignment somewhere in Afghanistan, he was suspended by some plain cloth person accompanied by the Afghan forces near Torkham border and took possession of the vehicle at gunpoint and shifted to an unknown destination.
Grt informed, they intended to go across the border however, the Pak border officials refused him to do so although they lodged their complaint and assured that it would take up with Afghan counterparts but to in avail.
The truck had been bought on credit and was the lonely source of income for his family, they added and said as per policy of the Pak government,they handed over their truck to a stranger and then never returned back that was regretful.
He asked the Pak border security forces to play their due role and help them to get their vehicle back.
They threatened that if they would not get their truck back then they would have no other option but to seize Afghan nationals’ trailers in Pakistan.
