PM approves appointment of his friend as NBP chief

The Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has given the approval to appoint his old business crony and dual nationality holder Muhammad Saeed on the lucrative slot of President National Bank of Pakistan(NBP).
Earlier Saeed was working as Deputy Governor State Bank of Pakistan since 20 January , 2014. Online News Agency came to know that the Finance Minister Ishaq Dar held interviews of some candidates have experience in banking sector for the post of head of NBP earlier in the current month.
The notable candidates who appeared before Finance Minster were including Deputy Governor State Bank Muhammad Saeed , Nosherwan Adil and Muddasar Khan .
The contract of former President of the bank Syed Muhammad Ashraf was expired on 21 January this year and government had appointed Masood Karim Shiekh , temporary head of NBP.
The sources said that a wave of apprehension is prevailed among the officers of the bank as they think that government has already appointed blue eyed persons on contractual basis in the bank and the appointment of a dual nationality holder as head would futher deteriorate the financial situation of NBP.
The sources said that the government wants to make Prime Minister’s Youth Loan Scheme more effective so that more and more people could be benefitted from it just to win their sympathies before the next general elections .
Documents available with online indicates that newly appointed NBP Chief had a long business association with Sharif Family and Federal Minister for Finance Ishaq Dar.
Sources said that Saeed Ahmed always accompanied along with Prime Minister in every visit abroad and even within the country.
Documents further revealed that Saeed Ahmed is a Managing Director of some seven companies which is registered in Britain and these companies are working right now.
It is pertinent to mention here that Pakistan Tehreek Insaf Chief Imran Khan on various occasion said that Saeed Ahmed is involved in money laundering for Sharif family, but the claim was refuted by Saeed on a number of occasion as well.
