In order to constructively engage the elected councilors in the operational activities of WSSP, the competent authority in consultation with Secretary LGE&RD Department Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, has constituted the “Neighborhood Committee for Partnership in WASH (NCPW)” in all Neighborhood ouncils within the jurisdiction of WSSP Peshawar with immediate effect as per the following composition & TORs: Composition of the Committee: Nazim of the concerned Neighborhood Council (NC) will be Chairman, all councilors of the concerned Neighborhood Council will be members, representative of concerned Zonal Manager WSSP, District Council of the concerned Ward (defunct UC) and member Town Council of the concerned Ward ( defunct UC) will be members, while representative(s) of Donor Agency /INGO/NGO involved in any WASH related activity in the concerned neighborhood council will be co-opted member.
Terms of Reforms (TORs): To initiate dialogue with the beneficiaries for community awareness, social mobilization, ownership and long term sustainability of Water Supply, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) service and Water Supply and Sanitation (WATSAN) infrastructure, to identify, prioritize & validate the WASH activities in their respective Neighborhood Councils, to prepare joint action plan for implementation of WASH activities, to orient, motivate and train the communities through a rigorous process of Behaviour Change Communication (BCC) campaign, to generate Competitive Environment amongst the neighborhood councils for achieving WASH objective, the works/ achievements of the “Neighborhood Committee for Partnership in WASH (NCPW)” shall be evaluated on pre-determined “evaluation criteria” by a team of experts for rewards on quarterly basis, to act as watchdog, to safeguard WSSP infrastructure in their respective NC and in case of any damage, fault and malfunction, immediately report to WSSP concerned Zone or on Complaint number 1334 and to extend full support to WSSP staff in executing its activities on day to day basis.
