MARDAN: The police arrested a murder accused and recovered weapons from his possession in Par Hoti, official said on Thursday.
District Police Officer (DPO) Mian Saeed Ahmad took strong exception to the incident. He formed a team, led by Deputy Superintendent of Police and Station House Officer Police Station Par Hoti, other police officials and cops to investigate the case.
The DSP said at a press conference that one Shakila, widow of Abdul Khaliq, told police that her husband was killed by unidentified persons in Tajikabad in Mir Muhammad Khan Korona.
The police acted on the information and launched investigation. The police arrested Ajmal, friend of the deceased, who had confessed to committing the crime.
The accused said that he had killed his friend and snatched Rs 40,000 from him to clear his debts.
The police arrested the accused and recovered weapons from his possession.
