Chairman, Amun Taraqqi Party (ATP) Muhammad Faiq Shah has urged the government to take strict and prompt notice over the increasing ‘price-hike’ and to ensure availability of food items on controlled and subsidized rates to ease miseries of ‘poverty-stricken’ masses.
Chairing a meeting here at the party’s central secretariat here on Wednesday, Faiq Shah floated an idea of setting up a control and command system to monitor prices of important daily use items and bring them down to an optimal level to give relief to the poor people. He noted that the political and ethical crisis is damaging the whole society and country that has caused economic and societal turmoil.
Turning down the summary of another increase in fuel price is the first step of Prime Minister Imran Khan, which would be the best interest of general masses, so it is highly welcoming, says Faiq Shah.
Poor masses are badly hit by the rampant inflation and poverty, as the sky-high prices of essential food items have remained unchanged and beyond their purchasing power, the ATP chief. He observed that political and ethical instability gave birth to economic and social crises in the country. The party leader held the government and opposition responsible for pushing the country toward confrontation, whereas the security is again deteriorating with each passing day.
He asked the political parties to sense the gravity of situations, because he warned that they would get nothing if they didn’t work with full wisdom and carefulness.
Long or short march is unaffordable for the country under the prevailing circumstances, which can merely impede the way of development while the opposition claims doesn’t make difference, the ATP chief, adding that the paving way to pull the country from crises and carrying out firm struggle with full passion and honesty can enable to bring progress and gain achievements.
We want to bring real democracy in political traditions and values, Faiq Shah vowed, adding that confrontation and work for personal interests had never been called democracy. Furthermore, he said the public government should have work for people welfare, which is our mission and we are making vigorous efforts to achieve this destination.
