Rupee gains 28 paisas against dollar

KARACHI: Pakistani rupee gained 28 paisas (+0.18 percent) against the US dollar on Wednesday after shedding Re0.72 during the previous two days. According to the State Bank of Pakistan, the US dollar was opened at Rs159.54 and closed at Rs159.26. The dollar gained Re0.44 against the local currency during the last three days. Currency experts said that the market remained positive over an agreement between the IMF and the government of Pakistan. After the approval of the IMF board the country will receive a tranche of $500 million. Besides, they said that the market was also optimistic about gain in rupee value owing to improved inflows of workers’ remittances and export receipts. TLTP
