KPBC raises concern over elevation of junior judges to SC

PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Bar Council (KP-BC) has expressed serious concern over elevation of a junior judge of Sindh High Court to Supreme Court. In a statement issued here Monday, KP-BC Vice President, Naeemuddin Khan and Chairman Executive, Haji Zafar Khan said the Council has showed deep concern that in the elevation of the judges from high courts to Supreme Court of Pakistan, the hon’ble Judicial Commission of Pakistan once again considering junior judges while ignoring senior judges of the High Court. The statement said on July 12, 2021 Pakistan Bar Council has observed strikes throughout the country and the Judicial Commission of Pakistan deferred the name of junior judge of Sind High Court but his name is again headed for elevation to Supreme Court of Pakistan which is totally against the norms of the justice and Constitution of the country. The lawyer’s community felt serious reservation over the violation of dictum laid down by the Supreme Court in Al-Jehad Trust case and such a violation would lose trust and confidence over the Judicial Commission of Pakistan.
