LAHORE: The Punjab Provincial Development Working Party (PDWP) has approved execution of two development schemes at an estimated cost of Rs4.62 billion. These schemes were approved in the 40th meeting of the PDWP presided over by Planning and Development Board chairman Abdullah Khan Sumbal. The approved development schemes included the establishment of revenue academy, Lahore at the cost of Rs1.19 billion and the promotion of high-value agriculture through solarisation of drip and sprinkler irrigation system at the cost of Rs3.42 billion. Earlier, the PDWP has approved nine development schemes of various sectors, costing Rs20.884 billion. The meeting chaired by Planning and Development Board chairman Abdullah Khan Sumbal had approved water quality monitoring system at a cost of Rs1.40 billion, strengthening of emergency services in all districts at Rs663 million, provision of motorbike ambulance service in 27 districts at Rs984.906 million, Insaaf afternoon schools programme at Rs5.802 billion, establishment of divisional public school at Kubay Chak Tehsil and Sialkot district at Rs550 million, Dilkash Lahore initiative at Rs499.987 million and the construction of 20km long dual carriageway from Kingra to Sialkot at the cost of Rs889.113 million.
