Chairman, Amun Taraqqi Party (ATP) Muhammad Faiq Shah has demanded special financial aid for recent torrential rains and floods hits areas in Balochistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and AJK and elsewhere in the country.
Chairing a party’s senior leaders and officer bearers, others here at the party’s central secretariat on Saturday, Faiq instructed the party workers to take part in relief and rehabilitation activities in the areas affected by heavy rains and flash floods in the country.
Also, he made demands from provincial governments to announce a special relief package for farmers, labor/working class and poor segments of the society in order to reduce their miseries.
He proposed that a check and balance system should be established to compensate the deprived people, assuring that his party will fully support.
The ATP Chairman said the people of all federating units, including Gilgit Baltistan and Azad Jammu and Kashmir have asked questions from all of them who consistently remained in power for the last several decades and who had stopped them from addressing basic public problems.
He noted the patriotic people of Balochistan and Sindh have faced backwardness and deprivations.
He questioned: “PPP has been ruling for the last 33 years, what has it done so far?
Furthermore, he asked: “Those who are consistently remaining in power in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa what kind of change they have brought”?
Federal and provincial governments must give answers to all these queries, he asked.
Faiq asked people who are living luxurious lives in their castles and palaces, should do mercy on poverty-hit people and alter their tradition of opportunism.
He made it clear that issues cannot be resolved until ensuring public authority.
The ATP chief observed the people have faced hardships in gaining bread and butter and livelihoods for their families.
Whether it is the provincial and central government, both have no concern with miseries of the poor masses, he noted.
He emphasized formulation of a joint strategy is imperative by quelling out from the policy of shielding personal interests.
Mr Shah reiterated his resolve that his party will fully support people in time testing situations. He vowed they will ask questions from rulers and elite class by adopting the way of an organized movement in all federating units, including GB and AJK.
