The opposition walked out of the Senate after pointing to lack of quorum , media reported. As per media report, the opposition on Tuesday staged protest and walked out of the Senate over absence of government ministers. When the session started, members from the opposition protested about the non-attendance of government ministers. Speaking in the upper house of the Parliament, Leader of the House Shahzad Waseem lashed out at the opposition saying sometimes they rum from Senate and sometimes from the country as they only know this type of politics.
Opposition’s politics is not based on public welfare but vested interests, he added.
Shahzad Waseem said Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) and its allies stand together and they have full confidence in the leadership of Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan.
Earlier, the Ministry of National Health Services submitted its written reply to the upper house confessing that the number of AIDS patients was increasing in Pakistan. The re-use of syringes and non-availability of AIDS testing and treatment and unscreened blood bags were main causes behind the rise in AIDS patients.
Senator Mushtaq said that Pakistan was included in the 11 dangerous countries of the world where AIDS was spreading quickly. So far, 0.240 million people are suffering from AIDS in Pakistan, he added.
