LAHORE
Minister for Energy Hammad Azhar has expressed the resolve that the government will steer the country out of prevailing challenges by pursuing effective economic policies.
Addressing a public gathering on Sunday, the energy minister said that Prime Minister Imran Khan took a decision to provide subsidies on petrol and electricity in the larger public interest.
He said that global inflation will end soon. He also said that the reason for the increase in electricity prices are the debts of previous governments. He said that Pakistan is pursuing an independent foreign policy and wants to forge friendly relations with all its neighbouring countries.
He said that corrupt elements have united against Prime Minister Imran Khan. “The people all over the world unite against corruption. Public could recognise the faces of thieves and robbers,” he said, adding that, “Corrupt people have gathered against an honest person.” The minister said that the people trust Imran Khan and like his true and hard working personality.
