Oath was administered to Tehsil Mayor, councilors here in Jirga hall of subdivision Landi Kotal on Tuesday.
In this connection a gathering was organized that was attended by Assistant Commissioner (AC)Landi Kotal Akbar Iftekhar as chief guest beside Additional AC Ashrafuddin,Tehsil Municipal Officer(TMO)Shahbaz Khan, members of civil society beside newly elected councilors.
Firstly AC,Landi Kotal administered oath to the elected Tehsil Mayer that was followed by his cabinet members, chosen as chairman village or neighborhood council and later on second and third position holder councilors, elected on general seats and reserved seats of woman,youth,minority and peasant/worker took their oath jointly.
It was astonishing that the oath administered to the councilors was in English and maximum councilors were unable to read even that they could not repeat after the guest speaker.
Talking to the media newly elected Tehsil chairman Shah Khalid said that since long the tribesmen have been ignored therefore they will strive hard to remove their negligence.
Efforts will be made to bring reforms and refunctional the departments like health, education, public health etc. that efficiency directly affects general citizens.
First time ever approximately 32 females elected as women councilors in the area.
Tasleema Bibi, a woman councilor from VC 07, Shiekhmal Khel expressed her amusement at her oath taking ceremony and said for the first she has got an opportunity to raise voice for the depressed elements especially for the woman folk.
It is to be mentioned here that the entire tehsil had been divided into 36 councils, containing 31 village councils and 05 neighborhood councils in the first ever local bodies’ election conducted on December, 19, 2021.
