Uni of Chitral launches plantation drive

The University of Chitral observed Tree Plantation Day under the theme of lets Nurture the Nature. In this connection a program was organized by the Department of Botany under the supervision of the Directorate of ORIC.
The program started with recitation of verses from the Holy Quran. The stage was hosted by Hafeez Ullah, Lecturer in the department of Botany, Nadeem Hassan, Additional Director administration welcomed the guests. Chief Guest of the program was Deputy Commissioner Lower Chitral, Anwar UI HaQ.
The guest of Honor was Vice Chancellor the University of Chitral Professor Dr Zahir Shah.
Muhammad Hayat Shah, Additional Deputy Commissioner lower Chitral, District Forest Officer, Sardar Ali Farhad, District Officer Soil and water Conservation Aminul Hag, Director Agriculture Research Station Dr Muhammad Naseer, District Director Agriculture Extension Muhammad Naeem, Resident Engineer WAPDA Golen Gol Power House Haider Shah, Tehsil Municipal Officer Lower Chitral Misbah Uddin, Resident Engineer Lower Chitral Usman Jadoon, faculty members and administrative staff were also present.
Vice Chancellor the University of Chitral explained the brief History and problems faced by the University of Chitral as a newly established University.
He also discussed the importance of tree plantation and their role in conservation of nature. Chief Guest of the Program Anwar UI Haq said that Pakistan is facing the worst crisis of Global warming.
The only solution to mitigate the impacts of Global warming is through forestation and planting more trees. Prof Dr Tajuddin Sharar, Provost University Of Chitral thanked the guests for their participation and precious time.
At the end of the program tree saplings were distributed among the students and staff of the University of Chitral.
