The Pakistan Pharmaceutical Manufacturers Association (PPMA) has threatened to hold a nationwide strike if the government fails to withdraw a 17 percent tax on the import of medicinal raw material within the next five days. PPMA Chairman Qazi Muhammad Mansoor Dilawar warned this while addressing a press conference along with other office-bearers on Thursday. “We will be forced to protest in the streets if the government doesn’t withdraw this unjustified tax in the next five days,” he said.
