Provision off justice top priority: CJP

MIANWALI: Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Justice Umar Ata Bandial said Sunday Supreme Court’s foremost responsibility was to provide justice countrywide, adding that regardless of the stature, a court is always bound to serve the justice. Talking to a social gathering on Sunday, the Chief Justice of country’s apex court said courts must focus on concluding the pending cases. He said his mission was to serve downtrodden and oppressed segments of society. Chief Justice of Pakistan said judges’ verdicts are supposed to raise the dignity of courts. He said judgments should be criticized instead of judges. Justice Umar Ata Bandial said vacant posts in lower courts will be fulfilled soon to end pending cases. ONLINE
