Slain journalist Nazim Jokhio’s wife Shireen Jokhio on Wednesday forgave her husband’s murderers, stating ‘she could not continue fighting anymore’.
Jokhio’s tortured body was found at a Malir farmhouse, after being murdered brutally during alleged illegal detention at the farmhouse of Pakistan Peoples Party MPA Jam Awais.
Awais’s brother, and Member of National Assembly (MNA) Jam Abdul Karim was also nominated in the First Information Report (FIR) of the murder. Karim had been in Dubai since then. Recently, Interior Minister Sheikh Rashid had announced arrest of Abdul Karim upon his arrival to Pakistan.
However, the wife of slain Jokhio has now pardoned the murderers. “I have minor kids and I cannot afford anyone’s enmity anymore,” Jokhio’s wife, Shireen said in a video message.
“I am alone and no one is standing by my side. Everyone has advised me to withdraw from the case,” Shireen added.
She said she had left the matter to Allah Almighty.
It is pertinent to mention her e that Nazim Jokhio was tortured to death in November 2021, according to initial investigation report of the matter. Jokhio had uploaded a video on internet in which he had demanded government for barring foreigners from hunting.
Those foreigners were reportedly guests of prime suspect of the case, PPP MPA.
