Utilization of special development package for Janikhel tribes reviewed

CM-KP had announced Rs2b special development package for the tribe last year

Deputy Commissioner Bannu Muhammad Zubair Khan Niazi chaired a meeting to review the progress on the development package for Janikhel approved by the provincial government.
The meeting was attended by officials from XEN C & W, XEN Public Health, Assistant Director Local Government, SDO PESCO Wapda Construction, District Health Officer Bannu, District Education Officer Bannu and other departments.
In the meeting, the officials reviewed utilization of development funds released by the provincial government for Janikhel qaum, said a handout.
The purpose of the meeting was to take steps for timely completion of the development package. Meanwhile, officials of all concerned departments presented their performance reports to Deputy Commissioner Bannu.
Deputy Commissioner Bannu reviewed the pace of PC One, tenders, and the work orders process of all the projects. He issued instructions to the concerned departments for timely completion of their objectives so that the people of Jani Khel area could benefit from the fruits of the development package.
It is pertinent to mention here that CM-KP Mahmood Khan had announced a Rs2 billion special development package for Janikhel area in Bannu district and Rs billion funds for the construction of Shakto Dam.
He had made the announcement after meeting with a 40 members delegation of Janikhel tribesmen who had staged two sit-ins against the killing of four teenage boys in the area during the last year.
