PESHAWAR
The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Food Safety Authority recovered 4,000 liters of substandard drinks and beverages from a warehouse in tribal district Khyber on Wednesday, said a handout.
The operation was carried out on the instructions of Director General Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Food Safety Authority Shah Rukh Ali Khan.
It said that the authority raided a warehouse on a tip-off and seized 4000 unhealthy drinks from a warehouse. The officials claimed unhealthy drinks were being supplied to other parts of the district.
Similarly, during an operation, a juice factory in Charsadda was raided and a large quantity of substandard juice was recovered.
The officials sealed the unit and owners were summoned to the Food Safety Authority’s office for further action.
According to the spokesperson, various bakery units were also inspected during the inspection, and two bakery units were sealed for poor hygiene and use of unhealthy dyes.
