KOHAT
A chirping competition known as “Chakri” of black partridges (Kala Teeter) was held here in Kohat on Friday in which more than 530 black partridges tested their vocal chords.
The daylong event kicked off with the partridges wer being placed in an open field. Hundreds of fans were present in Model Town Kohat to witness this extraordinary contest between the partridges.
Their owners were seen seated, praying for the victory of their beloved winged creatures. On the other side, the organizers of the tournament were busy counting the chirps of the black partridges.
Some partridges were shortlisted during the final round where the partridge belongs to Mardan which chirped the most was declared the winner and got the first prize.
During the tournament, apart from Kohat, the partridge hunters from Bannu, Tank, Sarai Naurang, Lakki Marwat, Dera Ismail Khan, Mardan and other districts participated in the competition along with their partridges.
The chief guest of the tournament leader of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Malik Atif Khan also spoke on the occasion.
