The Provincial Minister for Sports, and Youth Affairs Atif Khan said on Monday that Pakistan Tehreek-e- Insaf (PTI) was taking all possible steps to extend the sports facilities to Newly Merged Areas (NMAs) of province,adding that funds required for the sports grounds in the tribal belts have been allocated in the ongoing financial year.
Atif Khan who also holds the portfolio of Science and Technology directed the concerned authorities to speed up the work on all the ongoing projects under the Youth Affairs department.
“ Ensure the completion of all ongoing projects on time. Strict action will be taken against the authorities concerned for unnecessary delay,” he added.
He issued these instructions while presiding over the review meeting held regarding the ongoing and new projects of the Department of Sports and Youth Affairs.
Secretary of Culture, Sports and Youth Affairs Department Tahir Orzai, Director General Sports Khalid Khan and Director of Youth Affairs Department were also present on this occasion.
Atif Khan was given a detailed briefing about the annual development program plans and other projects.
He said on this occasion that our youths have immense potential but there is a need to provide them with opportunities and the first priority of the present government is to utilize the capabilities of the youth and bring them forward.
The majority of the population of our country consists of youth and the youth will take the reins of the country in the future, he added, the vision of PTI Chairman Imran Khan was to provide opportunities to the youth and the provincial government was implementing this vision in the province. Is.
He directed the Department of Sports and Youth Affairs to promote the talent hunt program in the province to bring forward the talented youth.
Huge amounts of money are being spent to promote sports in the province with the aim of attracting the youth towards positive activities and making the name of the province and the country bright in the field of sports.
The provincial minister said that to promote sports in the province, awards have also been started to the athletes who have shown exceptional performance.
After establishing playgrounds at the tehsil level in the province, work is also going on at the Union Council level under the 1000 ground project.
The provincial minister further said that after FATA integration, sports grounds were being developed there at the tehsil and union council levels because where sports fields are developed, hospitals are deserted.
