PESHAWAR: Like other parts of the country, Yome Umer Farooq (R.A) was observed throughout Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and people at large number paid rich tribute to Hazrat Umer Farooq (R.A). In this connection, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has announced a public holiday. Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Mahmood Khan in his message said that Hazrat Umer Farooq (R.A) was the companion of Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (Peace be upon him) and has rendered matchless sacrifices for the sake of Islam.
He said that Hazrat Umer Farooq has introduced a balanced society by promoting equality in all segments of life adding we could build a welfare state by following the golden principles taught by Hazrat Umer Farroq (R.A).
Meanwhile Jamiat Ulmae Islam (JUI) has organized congregation in Peshawar at Chowk Yaadgaar. The ulema in their speeches highlighted the golden features of life of Hazrat Umer Farooq (R.A) and his services for preaching of Islamic norms across the globe.
Speaking at the event, Maulana Ataul Haq Darvesh said that Hazrat Umer Farooq (R.A) has paved the path of development and introduced several public departments to run the public affairs. He said that Hazrat Umer (R.A) was the founder of establishing Baitul Maal, Policing System, Judiciary, Irrigation, and agriculture.
Similarly, ceremonies were also held in Nowshera, Mardan, Swabi, Tank, Kohat, Khyber, Mohmand and Orakzai.
