Steps underway to combat environmental degradation: Urmar

The provincial minister for forests, environment and wildlife Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Syed Muhammad Ishtiaq Urmar has said that Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) was committed to eradicate corruption, nepotism and ensure transparency in the process of public service delivery system.
He said that struggling against corruption and injustices was the manifesto of its party leadership.
Ishtiaq Urmar said that the provincial government has completed one of the world known projects of tree plantation without committing any corruption.
He said that efforts were underway to combat climate change as it has posed a great threat to living and nonliving things in the province.
“Creation of an environment-friendly society is the major goal of PTI and the provincial department of environment moving in a positive direction to fight climate change and environmental degradation,” he added.
The provincial minister, in a statement, said that the government was fully aware of the problems of the people and these self-inflicted inflation and difficulties will end very soon.
The provincial minister maintained that a clean and green environment was the vision of PTI Chairman Imran Khan and Chief Minister Mehmood Khan.
The department concerned was taking practical steps to eliminate the causes of environmental degradation and combat climate change.
He said that a number of projects have been launched for the protection of the environment in the province.
Ishtiaq Urmar urged the people to support the narrative of PTI chairman Imran Khan, adding that the country was passing through difficult times due to the incumbent government’s unwise economic policies.
He added that the PTI government in the province managed to hold by-elections peacefully and people again voted again for Imran Khan.
