Gang of street criminals held, 37 phones recovered

Police in a joint action on Wednesday have arrested a nine-member gang involved in street crimes and recovered a total of 137 valuable mobile phones and stolen motorcycle from their possessions, said a handout.
Acting on tip-off, the Gulbahar police station and Phandu police station of the city division conducted a joint operation against the criminal involved in street crimes in the provincial capital.
According to the details, the City Division Police has launched a comprehensive crackdown against the gangs in order to ensure the safety of the lives and property of the citizens in the city.
Police claimed that the arrest was made after a close surveillance and monitoring in different areas.
SHO Gulbahar police station Rafiq Khan and SHO Phandu police station Waris Khan arrested nine accused during the important operation.
The arrested persons have been identified as Salman, Najeebullah, Imran, Hafeezullah, Khan Agha, Shaheen Shah, Kamran, Aziz and John.
The arrested accused snatchers were involved in street crimes and during the preliminary investigations they have admitted to several cases of snatching in various streets.
Police said that phones and stolen motorcycles belong to original owners references have been made, further investigation is going on with the arrested accused who are expected to make more important revelations during the investigation.
