PESHAWAR
A three-day sports festival for Orphans and Helpless Children, organized by The Directorate General of Sports, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, concluded here on Friday at Zamong Kor in Peshawar. Secretary Sports Captain (R) Mushtaq Ahmed distributed prizes among winners.
Deputy Director Sports Jamshed Baloch, Director Zamong Kor Syed Mazhar Ali Shah, Assistant Commissioner Azza Arshad, Assistant Directorate Rashfaq Ahmed, AD Awan Hussain, ‘Sports Coordinator Madam Khadija’ Madam Jamila and Madam Zainab were also present on this occasion.
According to the results, Allama Iqbal House got first position in Cricket Junior, Shinwari House got second position, Khushal Khan House got first position and Rehman Baba House stood runners -up in senior categories, Hamza Shinwari House defeated Rehman Baba House in football. Karley, Naeem won silver medal in 100m race. Khushal Khan House got first position and Rehman Baba House second in volley ball. In women’s competitions, Sawira team won first position. In cricket, Fatima Club defeated Sameena Club, Swira took first position in the sack race.
In closing ceremony, martial arts, gymnastics players showed outstanding performances. Secretary Sports and Youth Affairs Captain (R) Mushtaq Ahmad Khan congratulated organizers and said government would take all steps for sports and added that these children have more right than other children.
