Walid Khan and Waqas Khan got first and second positions respectively in the first two kilometers peace Marathon race conducted here at Charwazgai point of subdivision Landi Kotal on Sunday.
Under the banner of “Zargai Pakistan” organization, 850 athletes from across the Khyber Peshawar participated in the race, started from Charwazgai and concluded at Sultan Khel market.
Speaking on the occasion chairman Zargai Pakistan Shakir Afridi said that the purpose of managing Marathon race was to generalize massage for restoration of durable peace locally and throughout the country.
All efforts would be made to bring back peace in the area, he added and said sports was the best option to promote harmony, brotherhood among the people and to make Pakistan the cradle of peace.
Security measures had been adopted on the occasion while Rescue 1122 and Al-Khedmat Foundation ambulances and medical teams were also deployed to avoid any untoward mishap.
It is to be mentioned here that Shakir Afridi had made Pakistan largest national flags and was exhibited last Independence Day of Pakistan.
At the conclusion point prizes were given away to the winning athletes.
