Hayatabad Police on Sunday arrested several criminals, including a gang of women thieves, in a crackdown on anti-social elements.
According to ASP Hayatabad Dr Muhammad Umar, the arrests were made by devising a new strategy against the street criminals, adding the suspects were allegedly involved in robberies, thieves, car snatching, murder, attempted murder and other crimes in the streets of Hayatabad.
He said that Hayatabad Circle Police has started effective actions against elements involved in street crimes and other crimes.
ASP shared that operations were conducted jointly by Hayatabad Police Station, Tatara Police Station and Pashtakhara Police Station.
As per the details police have also busted a gang of women thieves.
A group of female thieves including Rahman and Waqar son of Habib were also arrested.
During the comprehensive investigation based on modern scientific lines, the accused Rizwanullah, who was involved in the blind killing of Afghan youth Muhammad Ali, who was killed two days ago in the limits of Pashtakhara police station, was also arrested.
Police have said that all the arrested accused belong to different areas of Kohat district and Peshawar region.
The accused are involved in smuggling the stolen valuable mobile phones to the neighboring country of Afghanistan.
During the operations Rs800000 cash and 42 stolen valuable mobile phones, a stolen Alto car and four tola gold were also recovered from the possession of the accused.
Peshawar . Weapons used in various incidents were recovered from the possession of the accused, including three pistols and several cartridges, and two motorcycles.
More important and sensational revelations are expected from the arrested accused during the investigatio, ASP Hayatabad Dr Muhammad Umar added.
