Watchman involved in ICU teacher killing arrested: Tajamul

Commandant Campus Police Tajamul Khan on Friday said that the security guard allegedly involved in killing of lecturer Bashir Ahmad at Islamia College Peshawar has been arrested by police from Karak.
Addressing a press conference, he said that the accused has been identified as Sher Muhammad and arrested from the Karak and sent to Peshawar for investigation.
Mr Bashir, a senior teacher of the varsity was killed over a verbal dispute with a watchman.
After committing the crime, the watchman Sher Muhammad managed to escape the scene, Commandant added.
He said that after the incident police launched an investigation and registered an FIR on the complaint of the deceased’s brother.
Mr Tajamul Khan told reporters that the accused mobile number was traced and arrested within 48 hours of the incident.
Police during the preliminary investigation concluded that the accused fled to Kirk after the crime.
He maintained that police have also arrested the facilitator of the killer who is the resident of Sabirabad.
The accused has confessed to being involved in the killing of teacher Bashir Mohammad.
Police have also recovered the weapon used for the crime from the accused possession.
Commandant Campus police added that action against those facilitating the watchman would be arrested soon, adding that the weapon recovered from the accused was the property of the Islamia College Peshawar.
