In order to maintain law and order situation, a police team led by SP Sadar Division Malik Habib conducted targeted search and strike operation in the suburbs and adjoining areas of Badaber here on Saturday.
SP Malik Habib himself commanded the operation, which was accompanied by security forces and various other units, said a handout.
SDPOs Imtiaz Alam, Mohammad Ali, SHOs, Police Commandos, RRF, BDU, Sniffer Dogs and Ladies Police and other units participated in the search and strike operation.
It added that police took actions against unregistered tenants and suspected persons.
During the operation, As part of the operation, several persons involved in various other crimes rounded up and cases registered. Police claimed to have seized large number of weapons and ammunition from the possession of arrested criminals.
Among the weapons recovered during the search operation, two guns, two Kalashnikovs, three rifles, six pistols and hundreds of cartridges of different bores were recovered.
SP told reporters that verification of detained suspects is also being done at the local level and series of comprehensive investigation is going on with the detained accused from various angles.
Malik Habib furthered that additional patrolling in the suburbs and suburbs of the city on a daily basis along with spot checking and special barricades have been established at all entrances.
