Rescue 1122 returns 0.3 million rupees to Torkham landslide affectee

KHYBER: District head of Rescue 1122, Khyber handed over 0.3 million rupees to its owner, recovered in rescue and relief operation during the Torkham landslide incident here on Wednesday. Media Coordinator Rescue 1122 Khyber,Maqsood Alam while sharing details said that during the Torkham landslide rescue operation, the Rescue 1122 workers had found 0.3 million rupees and other necessary documents on the site while retrieving dead body from the vehicle carrying registration no.KBL-12271. Driver of the truck was killed and the vehicle was completely demolished in the mishap. Last day, officials of the department after confirming gave away 0.3 million rupees and the documents to the owner of the truck, identified as Umar Gul, resident of Nangarhar province of Afghanistan. The owner thanked the officials for returning his lost money and lauded the services of the Rescue 1122 workers they rendered in the relief operation. It is worth mentioning here that eight drivers passed away and eight others sustained injuries in addition to 25 export loaded trucks and containers destroyed in the landslide incident in Torkham.
