Chairman, Amun Taraqqi Party (ATP) Muhammad Faiq Shah lambasted the government for its “inability” to control the “storm of inflation in the country.
The party chief said that masses are bearing the burden of inflation caused due to poor policies of the present coalition as Pakistan Bureau of Statistics reported that price-hike surged by 48.35 per cent year-to-year (YoY).
Shah while chairing a meeting here at the party’s central secretariat on Saturday observed that back-breaking inflation continues to pile up misery on the poor.
He said the government has snatched a morsel from the mouths of poor people.
Enforcement of ‘flawed’ policies had brought destruction in every sector, he noted.
Furthermore, he observed the whole government machinery and system had stagnated.
He said provision of speedy justice, relief and public authority and powers are still a pipedream.
Shah reminded that his party is campaigning for public authority and powers which will be sustained. He said the flour crisis is looming as reportedly prices have increased unprecedentedly in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The party leader maintained the flawed policies have brought negative economic, trade, export and industries growth. Faiq criticized the incumbent coalition government for failing to arrest the economic and inflation slide despite the passage of over one year in power.
He noted the spiraling inflation, poverty, backwardness, lawlessness, poor economic conditions are key challenges which were a stumbling block in progress of the country.
He said qualified young with higher degrees didn’t find jobs and have been frustrated by the present system and want to leave the country for their better future.
The ATP chief called upon politicians and all stakeholders to join hands to end the current political and economic crisis.
While commenting on govt-opposition talks, Shah praised the SC’s verdict, distancing itself to play mediator role to end deadlock on polls and left political matters on politicians to resolve themselves.
Enemies may take full advantage from internal political instability and fragile security situations, he remarked.
He stressed a joint strategy should be crafted to tackle the challenges that have been facing Pakistan on h internal and external fronts.
