Illegal currency dealer arrested in Peshawar

The commercial banking circle of Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), in a joint operation with Excise Department officials, has arrested a man for allegedly running Hundi/Hawala business.
According to officials, a raid was conducted in the provincial metropolis on Wednesday and a man identified as Farid Hussain was arrested.
FIA officials said that the arrested person was allegedly involved in Hawala/Hundi business and claimed to have recovered over Rs2 million from his possession.
Six checks of different banks have also been seized from the accused, they added and said that Hundi and Hawala reference lists will also be recovered from the mobile phones of the accused.
A case was registered against the accused under the Foreign Exchange Regulation Act.
