Chairman, Amun Taraqqi Party (ATP) Muhammad Faiq Shah strongly opposed the government’s decision to not hold talks with opposition to end the increasing political chaos, saying that his party believes that the door of negotiations should never be closed.
Chairing a meeting of the party’s executive committee here on Monday, Shah said polarization would be increased among the people after refusal of the government to hold talks with the Imran Khan-led opposition.
The party leader emphasized negotiations are the only solution to reduce polarization among the public which is the need of the hour.
ATP always believes in political consultation and believes in dialogue, Mr Shah added.
Faiq urged all political parties to resolve all issues with mutual consultation and consensus.
It is a dire need of the hour to jointly devise an agenda to pave the way for holding fresh elections, he stressed.
He warned that political chaos would further deepen if the politics of vendetta should not be abandoned immediately.
The party chief noted democracy is in danger amid rising polarization in the country. He said the threat to democracy is a threat of Pakistan.
He was of the view that the politicians have discredited national institutions for personal politics and interests.
Faiq observed people have become highly frustrated from the present oppressive and cruel system.
He added no one was paying heed to miseries of poor masses.
He said government machinery and administrations are currently at a standstill position in all federating units.
Shah said the rulers have only focused on defending their misdeeds and targeting the political opponents.
He added change has become inevitable in the country.
He said only sincere leadership can steer the country out from the prevailing situation.
Shah called upon the young, competent and intellectual people to come forward and play their due role in the current scenario.
He said ATP has already given a comprehensive solution to the current issues.
He claimed that if the party’s devised an agenda to be implemented then political and economic stability would come in the country.
