Media plays key role in eradication crimes, awareness drives: CCPO

Capital City Police Officer Syed Ashfaq Anwar has said that media played an important role in eradicating social evils from society and supporting police force in their drives against criminal activities.
He expressed these views during a meeting with journalists at Malik Saad Police Lines here on Thursday.
CCPO said that the role of media in the society has always been positive, media plays an important role in identifying criminals along with social evils.
Crime reporters associated with print and electronic media were present on this occasion.
During the meeting, he said that the process of accountability will continue in the Peshawar Police, there is no room for elements involved in corruption, he said that the duty of the police in the true sense is worship.
CCPO Syed Ashfaq Anwar said that the media is considered as the fourth pillar of the state for the sake of establishing peace in the society.
It shows the positive aspect, the installation of more CCTV cameras is necessary to prevent street crime and crimes in Peshawar city, important actions are being taken against the accused involved in street crime and other crimes, arms smuggling.
Uninterrupted operations are also being conducted against drug smugglers, drug dealers, ice sellers, strict checks are being done on every coming and going persons and suspected abusers during surprise blockades and snap checking across the district, as well as serious cases.
The campaign against wanted criminals is going on, CCPO Syed Ashfaq Anwar added that the lack of police force has to be met to some extent to enforce the law on street crimes within the existing resources.
