Coucliers, political and social elements of tribal society accused Medical Superintendent (MS) District Headquarter Hospital, Landi Kotal for involvement in corruption and demanded of the health department to transfer him before they initiated indefinite agitation against him.
In a crowded press conference held here in local press club on Tuesday evening Deputy Tehsil Chairman Wali Muhammad, political and social workers including Samiullah, Kaleemullah Shinwari,Shaoor Afridi,Muhammad Sadeeq Banori,Chairman VC 17 Haji Sher Afridi and others condemned the MS Dr Jamshed Sherwani for his corruption and inefficiency and said instead of improving the health center, he added to his personal account.
Sophisticated health machinery was deliberately kept non-function to deprive the locals of better treatment, they added and said casualty of the hospital lacked necessary medicines and the patients had to buy it from private stores.
They maintained that MS Dr Jamshed Sherani deceived the locals by false promises and broke previous records of corruption in Sehat Card and no medicine was supplied in the local purchase system.
Category A status had been granted to the health center beside doctors and other health staff were available but the health services were worse than category D type hospitals that put a question mark on the efficiency of the MS,they opined.
They further added that due to rude behavior of the MS many qualified and special doctors had made transfers of the hospital but ironically Secretary Health and Director Health had turned deaf ears towards it.
They threatened that if the MS Dr Jamshed Sherani was not transferred till coming Monday then they would set up a protest camp inside the premises of the hospital.
