To promote interest in education among the young generation in the remote area of Sarukai Tehsil of South Waziristan, a summer camp was organized from July 10 to 15 in three different government schools of Sarukai in which 258 children from different areas participated.
During the summer camp various activities were conducted to promote personal development of children, enhance analytical and critical thinking through fun boxes of different themes, develop imagination with painting craft while encouraging team building spirit in children through different group activities .
Apart from lectures on self-confidence, leadership skills, sense of community, e-learning and personal hygiene, keeping in mind the interest of children, several documentaries related to Pakistan’s history, historical places, and national heroes were also shown to develop the skills of the young generation. During the summer camp, the students were very enthusiastic and motivated.
The local elders were also very happy with the camp organized for the educational betterment of the children of the region and described it as the main secret of the development of the young generation and the region. Such initiatives are very important for educational development, skill development and transfer of leadership skills to the young generation which will not only benefit the young generation but also contribute to the development of Waziristan
