The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has offered a monthly retainership fee of 45 lakh rupees to top cricketers including captain Babar Azam, Mohammad Rizwan and Shaheen Afridi.
According to the report, keeping in mind the previous contract, the PCB was paying Rs 1.5 lakh per month in red ball format and Rs. 9.5 lakh in white ball format.
Chairman PCB Zaka Ashraf has now assured a big increase for the players in the new contract.
The report states that in the previous contract, PCB had increased the fees of the cricketers by 10%. Similarly, Test match fee 8 lakh 38 thousand 530, One Day International 5 lakh 15 thousand 696 while T20 international fee was fixed at 3 lakh 72 thousand 75 rupees.
According to the sources, it has been decided to end the red and white ball categories in the future contracts of Pakistani cricket team players. A, B, C and D categories will be included in the central contract and the number of players in the central contract will also be reduced.
The number of national cricketers under PCB’s central contract was 33 till last year. In the new central contract, the number of cricketers is proposed to be 25 or 26. Along with this, more than 100% increase in compensation is proposed.
According to the new contract, the match fee of all three formats is being increased by 25% while the Test match fee is proposed to be increased by 50%.
