Independence Day celebrated at Malakand

MALAKAND: Like other parts of the province, the 76th Independence Day of the country was celebrated with full enthusiasm in Malakand district. A grand official flag-hoisting ceremony was held in Levis Lines Malakand in which the National Anthem was played. Deputy Commissioner Shahab Muhammad Khan, Additional Deputy Commissioner Zamin Khan, Assistant Commissioners, officers of district departments, chiefs and people belonging to different walks of life participated in large numbers and expressed their love for the country. Speaking on the occasion, Deputy Commissioner / Commandant Malakand Levies Shahab Muhammad Khan said that “we should pay tribute to the great people for making sacrifices for the freedom of this country.” He said that freedom is a great blessing and its value is known only to those who are deprived of it. Our forefathers and elders have made countless sacrifices for the freedom of Pakistan and thanks to their sacrifices, Allah Almighty has given us a free and independent country, Commandant added and said that the integrity of Pakistan will remain and will not hesitate to make any sacrifice for stability. Rallies and functions were held across the districts including Sakhakot, Dargai, Butkhela and Thana. Buildings were decorated with green flags and banners. Similarly, the students also presented songs and received applause from everyone. DLP Report
