PESHAWAR: Amun Taraqqi Party (ATP) chairman Muhammad Faiq Shah said that fruits of freedom cannot be achieved until the provision of social and economic justice and all fundamental rights to people. Addressing a function in connection with 76th Independence Day here on Monday, Shah said freedom is a great blessing so we must realize its importance and adopt the basic principles of faith, unity and disciplines. For 76 years, he said rights of the people have been usurped by politicians through various tactics and false claims and promises. Shah asked people to not come into fake promises and claims made by those people who only aim to gain power and exploit the public’s rights. He said an independent homeland (Pakistan) was created after untiring efforts of our founding fathers and unpatrolled sacrifices of heroes. The ATP chairman said politicians want only personal and family power as they don’t have a program for people welfare and protecting their rights and interests. No one talks and planning for improving the economy, ethics and public rights, he added. Our Correspondent
Faiq stressed the need for adopting a policy of diplomacy for investment, export and exploiting rich natural resources and reserves as well as improvement in the agriculture sector.
This is the only way to come out from the debt-centric economy forever, he added.
He said few families have grabbed power in Sindh, Balochistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Azad Kashmir and Gilgit Baltistan, which have come to power by changing faces every time.
There isn’t nurtured democracy but only promoting ‘Lotacracy’, gaining own interests and giving billions of rupees for becoming a member of the upper house of the parliament.
He said this position is only aimed to protect their personal and political interests, and their own businesses, saying that this practice was being carried out since the inception of the country.
