A joint meeting of representatives of all political parties was held in Chakdara Press Club Adenzai under the auspices of National Jirga against inflation and excessive electricity bills.
Notable of the areas including Hussain Shah Khan, Central Vice President of ANP, Khurshid Ali Khan, Leader of PPP, Awal Khan, Tehsil President PTI, Sultan Yar Advocate, Former Tehsil President JI, Naeem Khan PPP leader, Aman Khan, Javed Iqbal, District General Secretary, JUI, Malik Azmat Khan, former Federal Minister and President of Malakand Division, PPP, etc were also present in the Jirga.
The senior leaders while holding a press conference said that in our four provinces, the mistreatment of our province Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and its people should be stopped. Since electricity is the product of our province and load shedding is more in our province than other provinces.
No province has as many facilities as forests and minerals in our province, but despite hydel power generation, the authorities are charging fuel charges from the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. They said that the poor people could not bear the expenses of other food items and now facing problems at the hands of overbillings and massive increase in the charges of electricity bills.
Apart from the electricity bills, people are suffering a lot from the results of education here. The teachers here are also our brothers, but we demanded immediate action against those schools who have poor SSC results.
This is the situation that at least 99 percent of students have failed in every government school, so if the teachers cannot be fired, then at least their salaries should be stopped, demanded the speakers at the Jira.
They demanded immediate withdrawal of the huge taxes on electricity bills, we will be forced to come out on the streets in a joint action against this illegal collection from the poor people.
