SA women cricket team lands in Pakistan on first visit

KARACHI
The South African women’s cricket team has landed in Jinnah airport Karachi for their first visit to Pakistan.
According to sources, the 23-member African squad arrived in Karachi on flight EK600 via Dubai, where they were accorded a grand welcome at the Jinnah International Airport, garlanded with flowers and bouquets were also presented to the players.
The African squad arriving in Karachi includes players, coaching staff and management, captains Laura Wollwardt, Marizan Kapp and Nadine de Klerk will arrive in Karachi on August 29, team physiotherapist Molbatsi Phelan will also arrive on August 29.
South Africa Women’s team was welcomed by Tania Malik, Head of Women’s Wing and General Manager Ayesha Ashar.
According to police sources, the protocol of the President is being given for the security of the South African women cricket team, strict security arrangements have been made from Karachi Airport Terminal One to the team’s accommodation.
Heavy contingents of SSU Commandos, Rangers, Police and other institutions has been deployed, the team was taken to a local hotel under tight security.
3 T20 matches will be played between South Africa and Pakistan women cricket teams at the National Stadium. On September 1, 3 and 5, three T20 matches will start at 7:30 pm.
Pakistan women cricket team will play the visiting team on 8, 11 September and will play ODI cricket matches on September 14, the ODI series is part of the ICC Championship.
After completing the 20-day tour, the African women cricketers will leave for home on September 15.
